62 vascular plant genera are presently recognised as endemic to Borneo, from 25 families and comprising 162 known species. Many of these are under threat because of changing land use. In this work, not only are the genera identified and described but areas in Borneo where the greatest number of species of endemic genera are to be found are also highlighted. As a result, target areas for conservation are determined so as to increase the likelihood of the survival of these genera.
