Anwar Ibrahim, the former Deputy Prime Minister and  subsequently opposition leader of Malaysia, first came to widespread international attention when he was convicted on charges of corruption and sodomy in 1999. He was later declared a prisoner of conscience and the conviction was overturned in 2004. This book is the full legal report of the 1999 case where the presiding judge dismissed defence evidence so frequently as 'irrelevant' that the word found its way into Malaysian slang as a sarcastic put down. The book is mainly in English, but some of the evidence is in Malay. 233 pages.
