Ismail Hashim, who died in 2013, was one of the first Malaysian photographers to be recognised as an artist through his hand-tinted prints recording the everyday life that he came across. After his death his family arranged for his effects to be placed in a permanent archive for the benefit of future art photographers and researchers. This book is edited by those responsible for the project and includes essays by photographers and academics on his art, a selection of interviews with Hashim himself and an account of establishing the archive of his work. 176 pages with many photographs of his work.
