This study is based on the Hindu Sindhi community in Malaysia, one of the country's smallest minorities. Ancestors of the community moved to the Malay peninsula from present day Pakistan from the 19th century onwards and established themselves as merchants. The author's study examines to what extent the original Sindhi language is maintained and variants used by the community, mixing in English and the national language, Bahasa Malaysia. 213 pages with a bibliography, author and subject index and a glossary.
