The Sara Saga

Born in Sri Lanka, then Ceylon, he became a fearless editor of the Straits Echo, Penang's leading English language newspaper for most of the last century, led the citizens' committee that grudgingly handed over Penang to the Japanese and then went back to Sri Lanka to become a leading diplomat at the time of the formation of the Non-Aligned Movement.
