The Kuala Kedah fort was originally built over 400 hundred years ago and last saw use in the Kedah-Siam Ligor War of 1821-1842. Although a small part of the book is devoted to the architecture and layout of the fort, most of the book concerns itself with the armaments, both heavy cannon and personal weapons, used by the forces during the war.
