The main story in this collection of some of Henty's short stories is the title story, In the Hands of the Malays, which takes up about a third of this 176 page book. It is very much a tale of the daring and adventure in the style of the better known Among Malay Pirates. the other stories are On the Track, a tale of business intrigue, and A Frontier Girl set in North America.
