The author was a decorated civil servant in Singapore, rising to the position of Solicitor General. He then was appointed President of Singapore's Law Society where he used his position to question Government legislation. This and his candidacy in a general election for an opposition party landed him in jail. This book is his account of his experiences until he fled the country on being released from jail. Very Good Paperback. Reprint.  293 pages with maps, appendices, an index and a foreword by CV Devan Nair, a former President of Singapore.
