Tin Mining in Malaysia, 1800-2000: The Osborne & Chappel Story
David Palmer & Michael Joll
The authors, both former employees of Osborne & Chappel, use the company's history of over a hundred years at the centre of Malaya's tin mining industry as an illustration of the country's central role as the world's main provider of tin in the 20th century. The history ends with the collapse of tin mining and how both the company and its employees adapted to a world where tin had lost its earlier importance. 328 pages. Condition: Very Good. Hardcover with a near fine dust jacket. Although the book is fresh from the publisher's stock and still in its plastic wrapping, there is slight spotting on the text block and some of the pages stick slightly, but don't tear when separated. Otherwise the books look new.
