Calanthe is a tropical form of orchid having one of of its areas of greatest diversity in the Malay Archipelago. There has not been much published on this genus as a whole in the last couple of centuries, so the authors have sought to draw together their own and others' research on Calanthe in the hope that this reasonably comprehensive survey will spark further investigation by others. 411 pages with a bibliography, about 40 pages of colour plates and an index of scientific names
