Templer, often credited with turning the tide against against the Communist insuregents i the 'Emergency.' was a complex man. In this book the author, with the co-opertaion of, but not directed by, her widow seeks to piece together his life. Although he had many other accomplishments, both before and after his service in Malaya, he died largely unnoticed by politicians, but mourned by his fellow soldiers.
