These are the memoirs of a New Zealand educator who was in Malaya from 1946 to 1960. He started as a master in Taiping, was headmaster at schools in Klang and Johor, before ending up as Senior Education Officer for Selangor. His account, although rich in anecdotes, betrays a genuine concern for establishing an educational system fit for a newly independent Malaya. Very Good Hardback in a Very Good Dust Jacket.
