A collection of 22 articles originally commissioned by Kushwant Singh in the 1980s when he was editor of the Illustrated Weekly of India. As Singh explains in his preface the British in India often hated the country or were perceived as loathing it. So he invited those who 'liked everything about India, stayed away from racist clubs, went out of their way to befriend Indians and maintained contact with them after returning to England.' The contributors range from Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of India to journalists, missionaries and administrators. 191 pages.
