As a basis for this work, the author carried in 1967 on what he believed was the first ever Gallup-style opinion poll on the matter of race and politics in Malaysia. His research was confined to Kuala Lumpur and Penang in an attempt to discern the average urban voter's perception of the link between race and politics on the 10th anniversary of Malayan independence. 148 pages including several tables, appendices describing the author's methodology, a bibliography and an index.
