This study concentrates mainly on the reign of Wan Ahmad who gradually managed to free the state from its traditional ties with the Melaka sultanate. This independence was short lived since shortly after it had been achieved, the British stepped up their encroachment on the peninsula. The book ends with a brief look at Sultan Ahmad's successors between 1915 and 1933. 262 pages. Very Good Hardback. 2nd Impression. For further details, please see the scanned contents page.
