Ming Court Crisis
Political intrigue is the lifeblood of politicians everywhere. This book is not, as the title might suggest, about manoeuvrings between courtiers in China long ago, but rather the inside story of an attempt to topple the chief minister of Sarawak, Abdul Taib Mahmud, in 1987. (Ming Court was the name of the hotel where the skulduggery took place.) The author, a retired policeman and active politician at the time, was at the centre of the plot and gives a blow by blow account of what he says happened. 142 pages.
