Suaram

Since 1998, the human rights NGO, Suaram has been issuing annual reports on the state of such rights in this country. This report covers the first full year since the 2013 general election when the ruling coalition did not secure the majority of the votes cast for the first time since independence, although the Government remained in power. Suaram claims that this may well have triggered a backlash 'to teach the voters a lesson' through increased rights abuse. 201 pages.
