Sim, the wife of a British customs official and a keen artist, shows in this book how she was able to capture pre-World War II Malaya in words as well. The book is a series of prose sketches, sometimes accompanied by black and white photos of her own illustrations, of the Malayan countryside and people. The end papers are coloured illustrated maps of the country. Good Hardback First Edition

Condition: This book has seen better days. The cover is faded along the edges and has stains. Two previous owners' names are written on the half title page. The same page has a damp stain as does part of the text block, but it does not seem to have affected the interior of the book itself. The binding is tight and there is mild to medium tanning throughout.
