This is the only surviving account of an indigenous witness of the explosion of Krakatau in 1883, translated into English, by John H McGlynn, for the first time. Saleh's report was composed in the form of a syair, a classical Malay poetic form. The book contains not only the English translation, but also a transliteration into Romanised Malay Rumi script and the original Jawi version of the syair. 192 pages.
