This study concentrates on methods of language discourse amongst those who have Bahasa Melayu as their first language, but are living in a society where Kadazandusun is still one of the main methods of communication. Such individuals are termed to be 'passively bilingual'. The author argues that such Kadazandusun speakers do not necessarily contribute to the disappearance of Kadazandusun, but rather that their attempt to communicate in the language helps it to stay alive. 60 pages.
