Smythies compiled this checklist of birds on the island of Borneo in preparation for his definitive work, The Birds of Borneo, which was first published in 1960 and, several editions later, it remains the definitive book on avifauna for Borneo. Condition: There is a small bit of loss at the top and base of the spine cover and a little bit of wear around the edges. The title page has faint damp marks. Otherwise the binding is tight, text clear and there is mild tanning throughout.
