This book brings together the black and white photographic heritage of two of Malaysia's top photographers just before and after independence in 1957. While Tan Thye Siew concentrates on George Town, Penang before 'development' took root, Jimmy Tan takes us the length and breadth of the country capturing both the proud and decaying bits of the old as well as the beginnings of the exciting and, sometimes, confusing new Malaysia.
