The Real Malay:
Frank Athelstane Swettenham
Swettenham was the first British Resident-General of the Federated Malay States at the end of the nineteenth century. Like many colonial administrators he found time to write about his impressions of the country where he was based. This is a collection of musings, anecdotes and short essays about what he thought of Malaya and its peoples. 295 pages.

Condition: Good. The pictorial cover and spine have light rubbing in places where a few bits of the illustrations are not perfect. The cover has generally darkened with age and has a few small stains as well as some light dirt marks at the back. The binding is tight and there is mild tanning throughout. A really nice copy
