Rajah Brooke's Borneo
A compilation of reports, accompanied by engravings, on Sarawak from the Illustrated London News (ILS), the main popular periodical for trumpeting Britain's colonial exploits from the late 19th to mid 20th century. Borneo was then seen as just about the most exotic place in the world by ILS readers with the romantic Charles Brooke leading the way amongst head hunters, pirates, hornbills and steaming jungles, a view happily encouraged by these reports. 130 pages with an additional seven colour plates suitable for framing.
