History of Kelantan, 1890-1940
From the late 18th century to the early 20th century the Malay state of Kelantan was loosely governed by neighbouring Siam. However British intervention transferred the state to its own loose control in the Anglo-Siamese Treaty of 1909. The author traces the political and administrative development of the state from the late Thai period until the arrival of the Japanese.
