Dato' Nik Hassan Shuhaimi Nik Abdul Rahman (editor)

This is the fourth volume in the Encyclopedia of Malaysia, running to sixteen volumes in total, the largest reference work on Malaysia ever produced. This book, well illustrated with colour photographs, maps and other illustrations takes us through the least documented period of Malaysia's history under the guidance of a range of international scholars. Within the book's 144 pages are sections on Prehistory, Prehistoric Settlement Patterns, Prehistoric Technology and Art and Economic Patterns of Neolithic Life by Peter Bellwood, Belief Systems in Prehistoric Times by Leong Sau Heng, The Protohistoric Period and From Port Kingdoms to Entrepots by the editor, Wider Contacts in Protohistoric Times and Indigenisation of Indian Culture by John Miksic, The Port Kingdoms by Barbara Watson Andaya and the Early Islamic Period by Othman Yatim. The book finishes with a useful glossary and bibliography.    Fine Hardback in a Near Fine Dust Jacket
