A Book of Drawings in Black and White
Ivon A Donnelly
A beautiful record of Chinese maritime craft at a time when China had a greater variety of boats on its coasts, rivers and in Southeast Asia than any other nation. In twenty-five pen and ink drawings, Donnelly has managed to preserve the memory of their magnificence just before sail gave way to motorised craft. 28 pages. Condition: Good Board Book. The cover is a bit battered with splits at the top and base of the spine and a gouge out of the cover drawing. The edges are generally frayed. There is a previous owner's name written neatly on a front end paper. The drawings are not protected by tissue guards, so there is a shadow on every blank page opposite each drawing. The binding is still firm, the text is clear and there is mild tanning, but the drawings have minimal tanning
