This set is probably the most comprehensive record of birds of the Malay peninsula and began with Volume I: The Commoner Birds, published in 1927, 329 pages, was followed by Volume II: The Birds of the Hill Stations published in 1928, 310 pages, Volume III: Sporting Birds; Birds of the Shore and Estuaries, published in 1936, 264 pages, Volume IV: Birds of the Low-Country Jungle and Scrub, published in 1939, 487 pages, and ended with Volume V:: Conclusion, and Survey of Every Species, 448 pages, published in 1976.
