Chuah Thean Teng

Chuah Thean Teng is credited as being one of the pioneers, if not the pioneer, of developing batik painting as a modern art form. Although based in Penang, Malaysia, his work gained international recognition, including being chosen for a UNESCO greetings card in 1968. This is a collection of his work with text in Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and English and forewords by Professor Ungku Aziz and Frank Sullivan, a prominent supporter of the arts in Malaysia and Singapore at the time of independence. Good Paperback. First Edition. 59 pages of which 23 are black and white plates and 11 are in colour.

Weight: 0.6 kg Post free within Malaysia

Condition : The cover has browned slightly with age and has a couple of minor surface creases. There are occasional faint traces of damp marks on the blank pages facing the colour plates, but the quality of the plates has not been affected. Otherwise the binding is tight, text clear and there is fairly mild no tanning of the text.
