Archaeology of Tissamaharama:
Report on Archaeological Discoveries at Tissamaharama, 1884
This is another example of how some colonial officers managed to find the time to learn more about the countries to which they were posted and then publish their findings to further wider knowledge. In this case Parker, an irrigation officer, set himself the task of delving into the past of Magama, the capital of Ruhuna, a principality of ancient Ceylon. His findings, originally published in 1884, are reprinted in this facsimile edition. Very Good Hardback. Reprint. 82 pages. For further details, please see the scan of the contents page.
