A Pocket Guide to Practical Military Malay
A basic Malay phrase book with a selection of Malay proverbs and a vocabulary for British soldiers during the 'Emergency.' The contents are a rather sad commentary on the mindset of the author and probably many of his colleagues. The phrases are mostly commands and, while there are plenty of admonitions for bad behaviour, there is not a single phrase of encouragement or appreciation. There is a foreword by Mubin Sheppard. 73 pages.
