While North Borneo and Sarawak had been reasonably extensively explored by foreigners during colonial times, the former Dutch areas of Borneo were less well known to the world in general. Piazzini, who had already developed a taste in Africa for exploring where few outsiders had been before, assembled a team of a zoologist and a photographer in the late 1950s to find out more about the Dyaks and other tribes in Kalimantan. This book relates their experiences there. This is an English translation from the original French. 192 pages including three maps and several balack and white plates.
