Java or How to Manage a Colony

---------

J.W.B. Money

Money's colonialist's handbook was mainly aimed at showing Britain how to run their colonies, particularly in India, more efficiently, i.e. profitably. The book sparked controversy almost as soon as it was published, but the book remains one of the most detailed accounts of the methodology of Dutch rule in Java in the first part of the nineteenth century. This is a facsimile reprint of the 1861 edition. 311 pages
